Remote Area Border Crossing Pass (RABC)/CanPass Application
All individuals entering Canada through Prairie Portage to day fish or camp overnight must apply for advanced customs clearance by mail. This process should be initiated at least four weeks prior to the trip start date. To access the application on-line www.queticopark.com/rabc/ . The RABC/CanPass application requires Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is a program that can be downloaded to your computer Adobe Reader Program. The RABC/CanPass form can be downloaded, filled out on your computer and printed off. You may also choose to print out the form and fill it in by hand.
NEW Regulations for the 2008 Season in Quetico Park (Division #32, Northwest Region, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources)
No live bait. This now includes nightcrawlers. Quetico Park is strictly artificial lures only!
No organic bait. This includes all dead and/or preserved bait. Dried minnows, dried leeches, salted minnows, etc. Also includes porkrinds, anything that has an organic makeup. Fish scents (Smelly Jelly, Dr. Juice, etc. are still legal.)
Only barbless hooks are allowed in Quetico Park. You can purchase all barbless or pinch down your current barbs. Only the hook(s) that you the angler have in the water at that time needs to abide. Not every hook in your tackle bag needs to be altered.
Reminder- Everyone entering Canada in 2008 must have a Passport in order to return to the United States. This United States Regulation will be enforced.
Reminder- Lead may become a thing of the past as well. If you are going to buy sinkers and weights, buy the non-toxic brands now and be preparred. Jasper Creek will keep you posted.
