Jasper Lake Guest House

This beautifully done handcrafted home overlooks scenic and quiet Jasper Lake. Don built this house during the winter of 2003- 04  with mature white and red pine logs which he and neighbor friends harvested 'just down the road' from the Lake One area forest, and then had it hauled the few miles back to our homestead. Once there, a portable sawmill cut the rough sawn boards which were then molded on site into the rustic random width shiplap patterns. The boards were then sanded and oil varnished to a golden sheen. This 2,000 square foot home has three bedrooms (include sheets & linens), one and one half bathrooms (include towels and washcloths), washer and dryer, wood fired 40,000 btu heating fireplace, a large 400 sq. foot deck (overlooking Jasper Lake), a propane gas grill, a charcoal BBQ grill & smoker, an outside propane fish cooker, a large picnic table, a fully equipped kitchen, two refrigerators, large dining room with an antique oak table, a breakfast table, and an outside firepit with plenty of firewood. We provide up to three aluminum canoes, paddles, and life jackets for guests to use on Jasper Lake and to take on their daily excursions to area lakes; plus there is fish cleaning facilities inside Don's workshop.

 

This home can easily sleep 9 persons but has the ability to accommodate up to 12 persons in comfort. There's two main floor bedrooms; one with a full size bed, and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs is one large bedroom with a centrally located 1/2 bathroom. There is a queen bed, two full size beds and two twin beds.
